Do you ever have days when you feel pulled in a million directions with everyone wanting your time and attention, and you feeling like there is only so much of you to give?
(insert fetal position…)
I won’t lie… my days have been super busy. Between communications consulting, fabulous coaching, being a mom and nurturing my own wellness, I’m a hopping.
Some moments I’m amazed at how well I handle things. Other moments, well… I don’t handle things so well. If you are a working mom, with a career you love, I trust you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Sometimes we have periods of our lives that require more from us. I believe that’s perfectly okay, especially if:
1. Those periods are contained (versus indefinite).
2. We understand why we’re putting in the extra effort (i.e. there’s a pay-off).
I’m in one of those periods. I’m being very mindful on a daily basis to manage my time but equally important, my energy.
Several times throughout the day I place my hand on my heart, close my eyes and take a few slow deep breaths.
Do that now… place your hand on my heart, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths with exhales that sound like long sighs. Stay very still until you can feel your body relax. As you body relaxes, repeat a little mantra to yourself. Today mine was:
I choose my thoughts and actions.
I open to the amazing gifts this time is giving me.
I flow through my life with ease and grace.
It’s easy to be peaceful on days when you aren’t busy or have a care in the world. But the real work is in these busy periods. Can you flow and allow peace then?
Give it a try. Hand to heart, close your eyes, and a few deep sighs.
I’ll share more of what I’m doing to manage through this busy season. I suspect I’m not the only woman who is balancing work, family and wellness. Yes?
Sending peace your way AND admiring you for all you do!
Love,
Paula
