Have you seen the WestJet video going viral right now? A friend and I had an interesting debate about it. Watch the video and then weigh in with your thoughts below.
So, what did you think?
I loved it. One, because it’s so typical of WestJet to create magic. And two, because it’s such a good reminder to ask for what we truly desire. I bet the man who asked for socks and underwear will wish bigger next time!
My friend had a totally different view. He said, “A lot of people are saying WestJet could have put that money to better use. Did the people flying really need another TV or phone or tablet? I bet they have three at home. It’s just another example of companies capitalizing on Christmas to fuel their own agenda.”
Hmmm… interesting. Do you agree?
Here’s what I offered him.
Realize that your reaction to this video doesn’t reveal stuff about WestJet and their agenda. It reveals stuff about you and your mindset around abundance. Here is a company giving away free stuff, creating magical moments for people and you are judging it. How does that serve you? How does that block the flow of abundance and magic in your own life?
What we judge, we block.
The person who suffers when we judge is ourselves. Every time. We can’t have abundance in our lives if we frown on others celebrating and flowing in abundance. And it’s not as if WestJet doesn’t do their part to help others less fortunate.
I invited him to watch the video again and decide the meaning he wanted to give it. I invited him to choose a meaning that actually served him in a positive, uplifting way.
I chose to watch it filled with magical abundance. The expressions on those guests’ faces warmed my heart. What about you?
