Declutter Day 2: What’s Ready to Leave?

I didn’t have to look far for today’s win. I opened a drawer in my kitchen and saw two pairs of old oven mitts. Oooh, they’ve been through a few cooking diasters, I thought to myself as I admired the stains and a few holes.  They weren’t even worth recyling. Goodbye, oven mitts. Thanks for keeping my hands protected. (Why we hold onto things that we can’t even use safely anymore is a mystery to me!)

Given we are beginning the workweek and you may have less time to spend on decluttering each day, let the items that are ready to leave reveal themselves to you.  Like my old oven mitts.

I hope to spend a bit of time making a dent in my office tonight too. There’s a mail pile staring at me.  I’ll keep you posted.

What’s your win today?

  1. It all started with a shopping trip to Costco and my hubby buying himself socks…when I went to put his new socks in his drawer, it was so full I could not fit in another pair. So I went through all of them and got rid of all the ones that should not and were not being used. So even though I added a few new pairs there is still less pairs than before:)

  2. Day #2 for me was cleaning out the drawing papers, colouring books and markers. Papers & colouring books that were full went into recycling and the markers whose ink was now on all that paper went into the garbage. A nice, neat, well stacked colouring cabinet now exists in the boys’ cabinet. 🙂
