Declutter Day 5: Time to Play

Today I needed a playful picture for inspiration. Something that reminds us to play in our lives today.

I’m blessed to have the day at home today. Yes, there is work to be done and clutter to be cleared. Yet can we view it all as play? Can we be struck by wonderment, like a child who splashes in the endless supply of waves?

I’ll come back later today to report my clearing success! I can’t wait to hear yours too.

  1. How did it go?

I didn’t do much decluttering, but I did arm myself for more. Last night I purchased 2 portable file boxes for the boys’ school work, and a new wall calendar for the family. Now the old one can go down and we can know what’s going on again. 🙂

  2. Debbie, I remember chuckling at my sister who was so organized with her family calendar. Now I swear by it.

My decluttering win was filing our new life insurance policies and sending letters to cancel the existing policies. Premiums have sure come down in the last few years from when we first got our policies. Worth checking into. I love easy abundance. 🙂

  3. Today, Wednesday, we took stuff to the ReStore (old furnishings to be recycled/resold and the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity) This evening I am working on the living rom and my husbands desk clutter while he’s out. Better to ask for forgiveness then ask permission in this case – he’ll forgive me when he sees it looks way better now! Thanks for blogging this journey. It will help me keep going even if I am almost 4 weeks behind you. I just discovered your website lately.

    • Well, I’m so thrilled you’ve found me. And I look forward to your daily updates. In fact, you’ve inspired me to post my wins alongside you in the comments. Journeying is much more fun when done together! Thanks for appearing on the path…
