25 Fun & Freeing Ways to Get Back in the Flow

 

Yesterday, I shared the 7 ways to Get Unstuck. They are super valuable, but admittedly deep. After I wrote it I thought, okay, so what if the easiest way to get unstuck is to lighten up? Yup, sure enough, it helps BIG TIME!

Here are 25 fun & freeing ways to get back in the flow.

1. Grab a swing in the nearest park. Feel the wind on your face as you swing. Weeeee…

2. Pull out a pen and paper and let your mind doodle — flower, shapes, faces, whatever.

3. Put on your favourite music, grab a kitchen utensil as your mic, and SING IT SISTER!

4. Swear — yes, you heard me. Sometimes there are no better words to move energy.

5. Swim or take a bath– water is a conduit for flow and creativity. Immerse yourself.

6. Curl up with a seductive novel or thriller. How about an inspiring biography?

7. Hang out in the coffee shop or airport and people watch. Entertaining huh?

8. Test drive a new car or visit a new showhome. Smell the newness.

9. Volunteer at a favourite charity. Your problems seem small, yes?

10. Call a friend and chat about your favourite memories. Notice your heart open.

11. Plan a picnic outside or even in your living room. Pickles, anyone?

12. Watch a classic comedy movie and allow your belly laugh. Any favourites?

13. Go through one of your children’s baby books or home movies. Aaaaah…

14. Dance — whatever style gets your hips moving. Don’t worry, no one is watching.

15. Practice a speech you’d give to the world if you could. Okay, rant if you must.

16. Spend time with someone who makes you feel fabulous. Notice your smiling.

17. Walk barefoot on grass. Hug a tree. Dip your toes in a cool stream.

18. Plant new seeds. Feel your hands in the soil. Talk to the seedling.

19. Finger paint with your child. Immerse your hands in vibrant colours.

20. Pull out a blanket. Stare at the moon. Make a wish on the brightest star.

21. Plan a day off or book your next holiday. Where shall we go?

22. Count the money in your piggy bank. Don’t have one? Begin.

23. Cook a wonderful meal and eat by candlelight with your hubby and kids.

24. Pour a glass of water (or wine!) With each sip, name a blessing.

25.  Sit on a bench and chat with your Future Self — aloud or in your journal.

Anything that raises your energy will get you back in the flow. Listen to your body, as it will tell you what you need.

  1. A couple of failproof ones for me;

    * Going on a horse-ride by myself, and cantering along the trail
    * Singing at the top of our lungs with my 10 year old niece
    * Dancing in the living room to the radio with my 5 year old niece
    * Roller Coasters – the faster/scarier, the better
    * Running with my dog
    * Choosing a space in my house and going on a “De-Clutter” mission, somehow always makes me feel lighter and freer
    * Drawing – my mind stops chattering and time flies
