Are you pushing against life? Do you need things to happen your way and sooner?
That may sound harsh but time and time again I notice myself doing this. I create expectations of myself and then I beat myself up when life doesn’t turn out as I thought it should. Then I hold myself hostage to that self-imposed expectation instead of being present to what is happening that’s real and good right now!
For us creative, spiritual souls, forcing ANYTHING in life doesn’t work.
If it’s not happening there’s a reason. It’s not the right time, there’s a better way, or your energy isn’t aligned.
There’s nothing wrong with you. You aren’t lazy, unproductive, unworthy or unlucky.
In fact, just the opposite.
You are resourceful, wise, beautiful, intuitive, powerful, soul-filled and divine.
But it’s time to stop pushing. Time to flow down the river instead of holding onto a branch with your legs braced on the rocks.
How can you tell the difference? You can feel it in your body.
When you are flowing, you feel light, energized, inspired, optimistic, creative, passionate and peaceful. When you are forcing, you feel tight, heavy, lethargic, unwell, frustrated, resentful, anxious or impatient.
The good news is you can stop pushing any time. If you are struggling with your job, a relationship, your weight, or a stressful situation, ask yourself:
What expectations do I have on myself or others?
Where am I trying to control the situation to go my way?
How can I let go, even just a little, and watch what happens when I let things flow?
Forcing life is painful and exhausting. Flowing with life is magical and how we were designed to live.
Thank you so much, I needed this!
You are most welcome Rasheeda! I’m thrilled I could support you. In abundance, Paula
