You must open to receive.
Sounds simple, right? In reality though, most people (particularly women) were not taught how to receive. We were taught the opposite:
- to be grateful for what you have
- to not want more
- to be humble in receiving gifts
- to downplay compliments
Take this real life example.
One day in my corporate job, I offered a compliment to a co-worker and she dismissed it saying, “Oh, it was the team’s combined effort.”
I tried again, “Sure, yet I want to acknowledge your leadership role. It was impressive.”
She replied, “Thanks, but I couldn’t have done it without the team.”
And in my head I’m thinking… “Dear soul, accept the gift of my compliment!”
Deflection is sneaky, isn’t it? But here’s the deal. You cannot deflect and receive at the same time.
Open to Receive
If you find yourself always giving to others and struggling to receive gifts, compliments, money or help, this is a sign your receiving channel is blocked.
Here are 5 affirmations to help open you to receiving:
2. Receiving money honours the Divine who created me. I am so grateful.
3. As I open to receive, my life is richer. I spread that richness to others.
5. More is good. More is safe. The more I embrace, the freer I feel.
This Week’s Empowering Action Steps:
1. Take one of those affirmations and practice it every day.
2. Notice when you feel aligned with it, and where you feel blocked.
3. Ask yourself, “What is the opposing thought or belief that’s blocking me?”
4. Then ask yourself, “What if it weren’t true? How could I move forward?”
There are so many possible paths to greater money flow. Find yours.
